PBR (PT. Putrabangun Rubberindo) was founded in 2003 in Slipi, Jakarta. The original premises: a 200 sqm shop floor. The original focus: OEM-grade rubber parts for the Japanese automotive supply chain operating in Indonesia. Twenty-two years later we run a 10,000 sqm factory in Cikupamas, Tangerang, with 65+ molding machines, full in-house compounding, primarily in-house mold manufacturing (with vetted external partners for advanced tooling), an SGS-certified ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and a named customer roster that includes Hino, Suzuki, Honda, ROKI, and the rest of the Japanese-OEM ecosystem plus high-voltage power infrastructure customers. This is the story of how those two decades compounded.
2003 — Slipi, 200 sqm, day one
The founding focus was narrow and intentional: Japanese-OEM-grade rubber parts. Bilingual EN/JA correspondence (日本語対応) wasn't a marketing afterthought — it was the operating language of the customer base from day one. Engine mounts, bushings, and seals went out the door for customers that demanded Japanese supply-chain quality discipline.
2006 — Relocation to Cikupa
Customer demand grew faster than 200 sqm allowed. In 2006 we relocated to a purpose-built 10,000 sqm facility in Cikupamas, Tangerang, Banten, shared with our sister company PT. Putra Cipta Jaya Sentosa. Every customer program since 2006 has been delivered from that facility.
2009 — ISO 9001 certification
Six years after founding, PBR achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for the manufacture of rubber and rubber-to-metal bonded parts. The certificate formalised a quality system that customer programs had already been validating in practice.
2010 — Hino Best Supplier
The same year as ISO certification, PT. Hino Motors Sales Indonesia named PT Putrabangun Rubberindo as Best Supplier 2009. The recognition was formally presented on 25 January 2010, signed by President Director Toshiro Mizutani. For an Indonesian rubber-parts manufacturer to be named Best Supplier by a Japanese-OEM principal of Hino's standing was — and is — a significant validation of the underlying compounding, molding, bonding, and QC disciplines. A subsequent Best Vendor Performance 2010 recognition followed.
Today — SGS-certified ISO 9001:2015
The ISO certification has been continuously upgraded; we currently hold ISO 9001:2015 by SGS. The factory runs 9 cold runner injection presses, 46 compression machines, 4 hot runner presses, 3 vacuum molders, 3 post-cure ovens, 4 CNC lathes, in-house CNC mold milling, FDM 3D printer prototyping, finishing line, and the full QC lab with tailor-made customer-specific test machines.
The continuous-focus thesis
Many of our competitors entered the Indonesian rubber-parts market in the last 5 to 10 years. PBR has been running OEM-grade programs continuously since 2003 — through commodity cycles, currency cycles, and Japanese-OEM model transitions. The compounding knowledge, the bonding-agent experience, the customer-specific QC programs that exist on our QC bench today — none of it is new. It's the cumulative output of 22 years of single-focus execution.
